Nederlander Concerts Presents:

Monster Blues Duo Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang
at the Greek Theater August 7th, 7:30pm
BUDDY GUY is Chicago's blues king , ruling his domain just as his idol and mentor Muddy Waters did before him. His high-energy guitar histrionics and boundless on-stage energy have always been Guy trademarks, along with a tortured vocal style that's nearly as distinctive as his incendiary rapid-fire fretwork. He's come a long way from his beginnings on the '50s Baton Rouge blues scene, having journeyed to Chicago in 1957, taking that tie by storm. Today Guy is the favorite blues axeman of great many adoring fans worldwide, including guitar great Eric Clapton himself.
“The Blues had a baby and named it rock n roll.” Others say they named him JONNY LANG. Hailed as a Blues prodigy with the screaming Telecaster, LANG became a professional musician at the age of 12. Notable for both his unusual voice and his guitar prowless, LANG has been on the road since his now platinum debut Lie to Me, touring with giants like BB King, The Rolling Stones, Sting and Areosmith. Releasing numerous CDs, including the Grammy winningTurn Around, LANG has also played for President Clinton, appeared in the film Blue Brothers 2000 and was asked by Eric Clapton to participate in the Crossroads Guitar Festival.
