Asian Americans & the Film Industry Print
Wednesday, November 04 2009, 6:15pm - 8:00pm by Calendar Hits : 328

3-2-1, Action: Asian Americans and the Film Industry

A panel discussion features 3 different Asian American filmmakers from 3 different generations:
RD Alba, Grace Lee, and Teddy Zee.

You will learn about the cultural and technological differences faced by each of these filmmakers in different times.
You will learn about each of their interpretations, styles and approaches in making a film and how the
differences in each of their times affected them.

We will also have Sheri Bryant, the Board of Directors of the Coalition of Asian Pacific Islanders
in Entertainment (CAPE) on the panel and available for questions. They will also address what it
means to them to be an Asian American working within the film industry, discussing the
challenges and opportunities they may have experienced.

This program will not only enlighten the audience, but will hopefully intrigue the
filmmakers as they share their experiences with each other.
