These Radio Forums will be Translated into SPANISH and will be aired onKPFK TWO DAYS LATER from 9 until 10:30 PM.
2009 Pacifica Elections
Friends of Pacifica, free speech, and independent news and cultural programming free of government and corporate funding, this announcement is for you!
Please consider running for the Local Station Boards in Northern California (KPFA,the Berkeley station), Southern California (KPFK, the Los Angeles station), the Houston area (KPFT), the New York area (WBAI) or the Washington D.C. area (WPFW)
The timeline for the 2009 elections is as follows:
June 1st Nomination period begins.
July 15th Nomination period ends. All candidates must have all their forms in (By 5PM).
July 15th Candidates will be given air time at their respective stations to share their vision for Pacifica.
August 29th Ballots shall be mailed to all 95,000 members.
October 10th Campaigning Officially Ends.
October 14th ALL BALLOTS MAILED-IN MUST BE RECEIVED BY THIS DATE!
November 15th The election will be certified if the quorum for the election is met.

Date of Record
To run as a candidate or to vote, a person must have been a member in the period from July 16th 2008 to July 15th 2009
A person qualifies for membership by (at least one of the following):
1) Paying $25 to one of the stations
2) Volunteering at a station for a minimum of 3 hours
3) Obtaining a waiver from the Local Station Board.
