Hotep this is Sista Arrissa with Freedom Now a Tues Weekly Pan African audio Journal which seeks to educate and motivate the listening audience to better understand the struggle of African people as well as to motivate our listening audience to become activist in the battle for self determination of Africa and all African people.
We wish to thank all those who made last week’s KPFK’s 2 hour town hall forum “What We Want and What We Need “a resounding success. In particular we want to “big up” the AFIBA center and the numerous community based organizations that gave life to this project. We will continue to have remote broadcasted forum in the future. So stay tune for our agenda here at Freedom Now.
Agenda
Alafia our program tonight will draw from the past the theme of unity in this era of divisive electoral politics. We will present a speech given by Kwame Ture in Atlanta George at the Black Unity Day forum. Kwame Ture was a leading ideological and political activist whose organizational experience spanned the Civil Rights Movement, The Black Power Movement and the Pan African and Internationalist Movement. He was uncompromising during his life and is a shining example of principled analysis in this period of the lesser of 2 evils logic. This speech was presented to activist in the movement addressing the critical ideational components of unity. We will also provide a biography of Kwame True at the onset of the speech.
We will also have the African Drum Beat historical calendar with a listing of significant events and personalities in the centuries old struggle for self determination.
