AGENDA  Alafia ! Freedom Now agenda for this Tues. December 9 ,2008 will commence with our African Drum Beat Historical Calendar with Brotha Dedon. We will follow with an interview with Ka Bong Labog  Chairperson of the May 1st Movement Kilusang Mayo Uno addressing the issues of working class struggles and human rights in the Philippines. Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X   took stands on the struggle of the oppress in Vietnam against US Imperialism. So we in the spirit are taking a stand against US Imperialism on behalf of the Pilipino people.   We will follow with a tribute to the recently cross over warrior queen Sista Somayah formerly Peaches Moore, a musician, Black Panther Party revolutionary and a healer who was a major cultural worker in the African community of Los Angeles.   We will have a interview with Larry Holmes regarding the most militant labor action within the last 30 years the workers from the Republic Windows and Doors Pland factory physically taking over the factory in Chicago. Is this an early preview of future militant actions given the economic crisis of US capitalism ?   Our central theme tonight is a newly released documentary entitled Black Without Borders with our in studio guest Director/Writer Stafford Bailey. The premise of this film is that many opportunities that have eluded Africans in the US are available in Africa. The films do a case study of 12 Africans born and raised in the US who have returned to our homeland. Issues of repatriation, class and Xenophobia are raised by this film.  Our music mix will include: Dave Brubeck, Sista Souljah, Revolutionaries, Ibong Malaya, Axiom, Alice Coltrane, Miriam Makeba and Zap Mama.  Tonight’s program can be reheard for the next 90 days at KPFK.org under audio archives or you can get the play list at KPFK.org under programs.   So as always we stand “Ready For the Revolution”.  Dedon.Kamathi@gmail.com  323-646-4814  May 1 Movement: Kilusang Mayo Uno   Sulong212@yahoo.com John Parker: Workers World 323-899-2003 Blackwithoutborders.net Stafford Bailey: subailey@dslextreme
