Alafia this is Sista Zionne with Freedom Now agenda for this Tues February 3, 2009. Our central theme tonight is the on going crisis in the Congo which is by any standard the world’s greatest tragedy. Over 1.5 million people have died in the past 2 years yet the world remains silent. Why? Is it because the corporate driven scramble, for the destabilization of the eastern region of the Congo for the acquisition of rare minerals critical to the technology revolution of the world, acceptable by the media and human rights organizations of the west ?. We will have as our very special guest. Guy Lumumba the son of the former Prime Minister of the Congo Patrice Lumumba. Guy Lumumba has continued on the mission of his father who was assassinated by a CIA hit team for daring to state, in his National Independence day speech ,that the natural resources of the Congo would be used to better the masses of the Congo.
We will also have Obie Egbunna our Nigerian correspondent for the Zimbabwe crisis with an update on the recently joint power sharing agreement between ZANU and both factions of the MNC.
We will continue with Brotha Babu the Director of the Pan African film festival who will give us an overview of the must see films beginning this Thursday. Brotha Mateef will provide an update on the Raising the Bar prison segment on new developments with the San Francisco 8 political prisoner campaign. . Dedon will provide the African Drum Beat Historical calendar. And if time permits Sister Shardey will read an recently surface article never publish in the west written by Malcolm X entitled Zionist Logic.
Tonight’s production will be stewed in pan African music mix including Public enemy, Florida Boys, Ali Baba, Miss Lumba, Harmony, Axiom Trojan Dub, Waberi and Zap Mama
