Agenda Greetings! Freedom Now’s agenda for this Tues July 21, 2009 is composing of a 3 part series. We will have Brotha Fred Hampton Jr providing us an overview of this the 40^th commemoration of the assassination of his father Chairman of the Chicago Black Panther Party Fred Hampton by the United States Cointel program of the FBI. We will follow with Dedon and the African Drum Beat Historical Calendar. Sista Nana from Mother’s for Africa will provide a review of the recent “Hands off The Congo” Demonstration in front of CNN headquarters. Our central theme will be a discussion with Gerald Lamella Director of Africa Action on the recent Obama visit to Africa and its implications for the increased US effort at militarization of Africa.Africa Action is the oldest reformist organization in the US working on Africa Affairs dating to 1953. Their objective is working with civil society organizations in Africa and the US to change US foreign policy regarding Africa. Our music mix will include Zap Mama, Dead Prez, Trojan dub , Papa Curly, Les McCann , ANC band and Farka Ture.
