Hotep this is Dedon Kamathi with  Freedom Now agenda for this Tues August 11.2009 . Freedom Now will have as our major theme the controversial issue of  Immigrations in the United States from an African perspective. The discouse on immigration has been dominated by Europeans and so called Latino’s . The African perspective on this vital issue has been ignored so we are blessed to have 2 special guest. Dr. Jerome Spaughan  a Scholar on Black Immigrations with a specialization on the Belieazsan Diaspora.. In addition we have Gerald Lanyor the Director of the Black Alliance for Just Immigration or BAJI . The Black Alliance For Just Immigration is a educational and advocacy organization composed of Africans from  the US, Africa, Latin America and the Carribbean. The mission of BAJI is to engage Africans in the US and others in analysis and actions that challenge U.S. immigration policy and the underlying issues of race, racism and economic inequity that frames it.

Brotha Mateef with the Raising the Bars political segment will provide a roll call list of political prisoners in commemoration of Black August. Yes the US has political prisoners.

Dedon will provide the African Drum Beat historical calendar.

Our clip mix will include Kwame Ture, Al Sharpton, Ms. Kaboka  and  a host of statements on immigrations. Our music mix will including Zap Mama, the Ohio Players, the Last Poets, Manu Dubango, Paris, and Rasta dub.

So we encourage you to kick back and  listen, reflect and pass on the knowledge gain from tonights program to your family and friends so that we can raise the collective consciousness of our listening audience and as always we stand ready for the revolution.
