        Alafia this is Sista Abebe with Freedom Now agenda for this Tues. Dec.8, 2009.

 Brotha Mateef with kick into gear our program with the Raising the Bars segment which  provide details on the recent  people’s victory with the dropping of the murder charges against the last of the SF8 political prisoners Cisco Torres. . He will also interview Pat Levassear, a former political prisoner involved with guerilla warfare against US corporations and a member of the Lynn Stewart defense committee. Lynn Stewart a radical people’s lawyer was recently convicted for aiding & abetting terrorism for her legal work with Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman.

   We will follow with the African Drum Beat Historical Calendar with Dedon where we highlight the struggles of the oppress with a special emphasis on women and revolution.

 The recent murder of Oscar Grant by the Bay Area transit police had sparked urban rebellion in Oakland. The case has recently been moved to Los Angeles for a trial. We will have brotha JR from the POCC and Justice for Oscar Grant to provide us an update on organizing activities here in LA to continue the pressure on the judicial system to see that people’s justice is accomplished.

  On this Dec.8  40 years ago  the Los Angeles Police Department newly formed SWAT team assaulted the Southern California Black Panther Party office on 41 and central for 5 hours. The shootout between the Panthers and the LAPD was deemed justifiable self defense by a jury and the Panthers were freed. Can you image a firefight with thousands of rounds of ammunition exchange and the police were held in contempt of law and order.  We will play an interview with Roland Freeman one of the Panthers involved in the shootout that was another people’s victory.

 We will close out tonights program with a interview with Keith Harmon Snow a global journalist who is breaking news on the Belgian paratrooper being used to rush a Rising Congo Rebellion. Africans in the Diaspora since Malcolm X have taken a keen interest in the Congo since the US CIA assassination of the democratically elected Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba was assassinated.

Our music mix will include Zap Mama, Baba Maal, Mutabruka, the Impressions, Rebel Dub, Peter Tosh, Publi, Bapi Dos Baul,  and  Fela.
