                                                                    Agenda

Hotep this is Dedon Kamathi with Freedom Nows agenda for this Tues March 16,2010. We will start with Sista Kabila who is organizing together with Bro Caldwell a tribute in Leimert Park this weekend to the historical Negritudist poets and writers from French speaking Africa.

We will follow with Dedon and the African Drum Beat Historical Calendar. Our central theme is a speech given to the Ethiopian community on Ethiopia’s contribution to world civilization. We will step back into our history, Ethiopian history and recast the media’s negative portrayal of Mother Ethiopia. Ethiopia’s contribution to world civilization cannot be parrell by any civilization or nation in the world. I know that this notion is hard to digest given the constant bombardment we have of Ethiopia as a land of war, poverty, famine and ignorance. Yet Dr. Effraim Isaac and esteem scholar of over 50 years will radically challenge this popular myth of Ethiopia.

Our music mix will include: Zap Mama, High Masekella, Babbva Maal, Hatcheet Dub, Gopal , Lasta, Herbie Mann, Taumbu and Konjit.

Take note that tonights program can be reheard for the next 90 days at KPFK.org Audio archives scroll to freedom Now.

So sit tight for a journey going back thousands of years as we explore the Glory’s of Anicent Ethiopia.

As always we stand ready for the Revolution.
