    Hotep !  Freedom Now , has been restored to a full 1 hour program which is  tentatively Saturday from 5-6 pm. Praise the Lord, Absawalaum, Jah Rastafari.  Of course our next struggle is to stabilized the time slot  but we are moving forward and we thank all of the listeners and volunteers who lobbied for this victory. Freedom Now is thee only program on the AM-FM dial that provides a voice for the Black Power, Black Nationalist,Afro-centric,Pan Africanist, African Socialist perspectives. Also on the International level we provide a voice for the anti-imperialist governments of Zimbawee,Sudan,Cote;Ivoire,Libya among other nations. Now you understand why these governments  are constantly under attack.  We also provide a voice for the Diaspora of Africa whether in Paris, Brazil. Belize ,West Papua, and the Dalit of India just to name a few .And of course a voice for our Internationalist Brothers and Sista’s in occupied Palestine and indigenous comrades in the setter colonies of the United States and the Americas..

Freedom Now agenda for this April 9,2011 will consist of the African Drum Beat Historical Calendar,  following will be  Warrior Woman of the Dinee Nation of Indigenous peoples on the upcoming Red Wind Youth, Student and gang gathering.

  Our central and only theme this is evening is Africana Womanism a paradigm challenge to the European feminist, Black Feminist and Black womanism models. We have as our in studio guest Dr. Cleonara Hudson Weem. Dr.Weems is a full professor of English at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is the author of numerous books and journals including the bio of Toni Morrison, African Womanism:Reclaiming Ourselves, Emmett Till: The Sacrificial  Lamb of the Civil Rights Movements and  African Womanish Literary Theory. She is profound, provocative and has placed the triple struggle of African women, Race, Class and Gender in a new prioritized paradigm. Her Pan African perspective has been welcome in Africa and well as throughout the Diaspora.  Since this point of view has not been presented here at KPFK we are proud to honor her and we will open the telephones for 15+ minutes at 818-985-KPFK  and we encourage  women to call in. Our music mix will include Zap Mama,Calabashi, Man Killer, Tye dub, BaiRobert Miles, De La Soul, Sweet Honey & the Rock,Ike and Tina Turner and Sweet Honey and the Rock .
