AGENDA FOR MARCH 11,2008- REV. AL SHARPTON

Alafia this is Freedom Now agenda for this Tues March 11, 2008. The Reverend Al Sharpton recently was in Los Angeles and spoke at Brotha Anthony Samad's Urban Issues form breakfast at the Regency West in Leimert Park. This Feb.8 presentation was on tactics and strategy of the struggle for Black Liberation with a thrust on the upcoming National elections . Al Sharpeton is probably one of the 2 most well know street activist on a national scale behind the Rev. Jessie Jackson. His activism dates backs to his student's days when the soul singer James Brown backs the National Student Movement of which he was president. I found his presentation very interesting from an electoral politic point of view though I believe the most progressive candidate is Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney who we will have on at some future date.

We will also have Attorney James Simmons address the political frame-up of the Black Ryder Liberation Party by the DA and the LAPD and of course our African Drum Beat Historical calendar with Sista Zionne.

Just a little side note: The President of the African Union His Excellency Jean Ping of Gabon has been in LA for the past 2 days and he spoke earlier today at USC from 2-4. I attended, asked question s and recorded his presentation and rush to the studio to finish preparing tonight’s show but did not have the time to ID a spoken word piece so I apologize to the listening audience for that omission. We will be playing that presentation and interview in the near future. The future looks bright for the prerequisites of a United States of Africa.

Our music mix tonight will include the :

Aggravators dub

Herbie Hancock's Maiden Voyage

Parliaments-chocolate city

Ascari X Ward of the state

And Zap Mama Afro Pea

So stay tune for another episode of Freedom Now
