MONDAY JULY 20TH 2009 Global Village Playlist with host Maggie LePique and special in-studio guest Ziggy Marley from 10am-12 Noon
In the first hour Ziggy’s latest project “Family Time” an easygoing journey of original tunes and a few covers, the album offers a full collection of family-oriented songs for those already familiar with Marley's beloved work in the genre, and may serve to introduce today's youngest generation to reggae. Family Time resonates with themes of love, responsibility, unity, freedom and fun.
In the 11:00 hour the topic will be “B is for Bob” A collection of original Bob Marley songs re-imagined for kids and fans of all ages. With children in mind, Ziggy has transformed 8 of his father's songs while leaving 4 of Bob Marley's other masterpieces untouched.

Big thanks to my wonderful guest this morning Ziggy Marley and all the folks who made the interview possible today including Michelle Rodriguez from Tuff Gong Worldwide, Elliot Kendall from Universal Music, and Crystal Ann Lea from m:m Music. It was a real team effort! Also thanks to Dr. Earl Ofari Hutchinson for being on the show today and sharing his story of interviewing the great Bob Marley here at KPFK in the 1970's. Peace & much love..Dr. Martin Luther King said "Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
