EVENTS

Award-winning documentary movie Girls on the Wall makes its West Coast premiere on January 13 at the Egyptian Theatre (6712 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles 90028). The evening will kick off with a live hip-hop muiisc dance session in the courtyard featuring a breakdance performance by the all girl Antics b-girl crew, plus some of the finest teenage MCs. Music begins at 7 pm, the film at 8 pm. Director Heather Ross and editor Julie Janata will be in attendance for a Q&A afterward. The movie is about a group of incarcerated teenage girls who get a shot at redemption in a most uinlikly form - a musical based on their lives. The movie chornicles nine months in the writing and staging of a full-scale musical inside a prison for girls.
