The Lost Boys of Sudan, as they came to be known, were among the youngest of the millions displaced by the genocide that continues today in their war-ravaged homeland of Sudan. In 2001, the United States welcomed 3,800 Lost Boys as refugees, three of whom have formed the Southern California-based band ThongJieng. The band comes to the Skirball to perform songs inspired by the music of southern Sudan and of the Dinka people of that region
