Santa Monica Festival, Saturday, May 13 - 11:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The City of Santa Monica celebrates its history, diverse ethnicity, and deep artistic roots, as well as the environmental resources that sustain it, with an electric array of performing and visual arts, presented in a beautiful outdoor setting. The festival kicks off at 11:00 a.m. with a unique music-making experience -- a participatory drum circle. Shakers, tambourines, and other percussion instruments will be provided or attendees can bring their own. The celebrated Los Angeles band Quetzal will headline the day’s entertainment. Bucovina Klezmer will also unleash its music for the simchas or joyous occasions that are part and parcel of Jewish cultural and religious life; and Viver Brasil Dance Company joins the party with its fusion of passionate Afro-Brazilian dance.
