Join KPFK and celebrate your favorite rebel radio station’s golden anniversary in the first of a series of Global Dance Parties. In what promises to be a night of unforgettable music, two legends will be taking to the stage in a special benefit on April 28th at the Mint, located at 6010 West Pico Blvd. in the city of Los Angeles. Starting the evening, founding member of War Lonnie Jordan will be helping us sustain our mission by going on the offensive with his jazz/funk Wartet. 

Master conguero Poncho Sanchez and his band will continue KPFK’s “Global Dance Party,” with his Grammy award winning Latin Jazz sounds. Hosting the event is our very own cucaracha Lalo Alcaraz heard every Friday on the “Pocho Hour of Power.”And special guest DJ's spinning dance music and eclectic mash-ups DJ Sanchez starting off the evening and DJ Boxy D spinning between sets and beyond.
