17th Annual Brazilian Summer Festival
Sun. September 26, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.
Percussion is the pulse of this year’s festival. Olodum, from
Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, is the group that created samba reggae,
combining Brazilian samba with Jamaican reggae, merengue and salsa.
They drew inspiration, both musically and ideologically, from Bob
Marley. In 2010 the 23-member percussion and dance ensemble marks the
30th year of bringing their brand of Afro-Brazilian culture to the
world.
