Legendary, pioneering rhythm-and-blues singer, songwriter, drummer, bandleader and disc jockey Johnny Otis passed on Tuesday January 17th.

Johnny was the host of an R&B show on KPFK in the 70's and 80's..father of Shuggie Otis and an all around LA musical legend.

Join Bill Gardner Friday night from 8-10pm for a celebration of the music of Johnny Otis only on KPFK 90.7FM and Rhapsody in Black!		 Johhny Otis

Bill Gardner will be playing The Recordings of Johnny Otis this Friday Night January 20th 2012 on Rhapsody In  Black from 8-10pm

Bill will also reminisce about the times he had as Johnny's assistant at KPFK from 1983-1984.
