Zero Bridge: Arts, Activism and the Occupied Territory of Kashmir

A Two Part Series
Part 1
Guest - Tariq Tapa, screenplay writer and director of the feature film Zero Bridge

This is the first dramatic narrative feature film about contemporary daily life in the Indian-occupied city of Srinagar, Kashmir. It was filmed entirely on location in Srinagar, with a strictly local cast of first-time, non-professional actors performing in their native Kashmiri language and with a technical crew of one: the director.

Part 2
Guests - Mohsin Mohi-Ud-Din and Mubashir Mohi-Ud-Din, brothers and members of the band, Zerobridge, a New York-based indie alternative/rock band formed in 2001.  Mohsin is also a human rights activist specializing on rights issues in Kashmir.  He is a represetative for the Kashmir People's Tribunal, and has a column on Huffington Post, with monthly coverage focusing largely on the issues of Kashmir.

NOTE: because Radio Intifada has been cut to ½ hour, this program has to be broadcast in two parts.  Please join us for Part 2 on January 7th, 2010.

Co-produced by Sejal Patel and Anjali Nath and hosted by Sejal Patel, for SWANA (South and West Asia and North Africa Collective)
