Iran at the Crossroads: The Uprising Continues and the

Question Remains

A Look from Within

The protests and civil unrest which began around the disputed Iranian elections in June of 2009, have not just dissipated but have become increasingly more violent with more direct slogans against the government. Today’s program focuses on the how this movement has evolved since its inception, and who/what group, if any, is leading it. We will also touch on the differences and/or similarities of the opposition movement prior to the revolution of 1979 and the current uprisings.

The guest, a long term activist, has lived in Iran during both 1979 revolution and the recent protests.

Produced by Farah Davari and hosted by Afshin Matin, for SWANA (South and West Asia and North Africa Collective)
