Women's History Month Programming - Part III

 Focus on on Iraq and Tunisia

featuring

Dr. Dahlia Wasfi, an American activist speaking on the illegal occupation of Iraq 
and Dr. Rim Khaki, who will address the emancipation struggle for Tunisian women

Dr. Dahlia Wasfi is an internationally known speaker and activist. She has brought her eyewitness account of life under occupation to over 200 audiences in twenty-two sites in the United States. Based on her experiences, Dr. Wasfi is speaking out in support of immediate and unconditional withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq and Afghanistan and the need to end the occupation "from the Nile to the Euphrates."

Dr. Rim Khaki is based in Los Angeles and runs a highly successful microfinance program for women and families in Tunisia.  She will discuss the emanicpation struggle for women in Tunisia since the country's independence.
