As the United Nations Special Tribunal for Lebanon proceeds with the investigation of former prime minister Rafik Hariri's murder, many are fearing the start of yet another conflict in Beirut.   It is expected that certain Hezbollah members will be indicted for the murder of the former premier, an accusation that clearly demarcates  sectarian and regional alliances.
With these impending accusations, Secretary General of Hezbollah, Said Hassan Nasrallah, released new evidence, which he alleges would prove Israel's complicity in the assassination. At the same time, growing tensions between Lebanon and Israel culminated into a cross border clash between Israeli and Lebanese troops last Tuesday, which killed three Lebanese, including a journalist, and one Israeli. Fears of another war with Israel have been on the rise in Beirut, fueled by the growing tensions over Iran's nuclear ambitions and the accusation of Israeli officials that Syria  has been smuggling Scud missiles to Hezbollah.
This week on Radio Intifada will explore the possibility of a proxy war in Lebanon this summer and the regional and international contributions to the struggles.
