CHALLENGING ISRAELI IMPUNITY: Global BDS Day of Action
March 30th marks Global Boycott, Divestment and sanctions (BDS) Day and commemorates Land Day, when Palestinians citizens of Israel were killed and injured for protesting the confiscation of 20,000 dunums of their land in 1976.
Citizens around the world committed to justice for Palestinians are engaged in a host of activities, ranging from flashmobs and BDS demonstrations in dozens of cities from Rabat to Toronto, from Prague to Melbourne.
Internationally, the campaign against the Jewish National fund will be launched, while here in California, the Israel Divestment Campaign (IDC) will be launching its direct petition drive to pressure the two state retirement systems to divest from corporations that profit from Israeli violation of Palestinian human rights. It will be joined in the state capitol by Jewish Voice for Peace and other local groups; while here in LA a coalition of groups will be demonstrating against Ahava beauty products (see below for details).
This Radio Intifada GLOBAL BDS Special will provide both a global and local sweep.

Estee Chandler, political activist and Los Organizer for Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) will report on the joint JVP, LA Jews for Peace and Code Pink AHAVA campaign, “There is no beauty in Occupation.”
Emily Alma, long time peace and justice and environmental activist is the Butte County coordinator of the Israel Divestment Campaign. She will report on the launch of the new petition campaign and the demonstration in Sacramento by a coalition of group.
