Samuel Clemens, aka Mark Twain, was considered by many to be the “father of American literature.” His humor, wit, and storytelling are woven into the very fabric of American life and lore.  We all grew up with the “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” and “Tom Sawyer” but this week on Pacifica Performance Showcase, we focus on works which might not be so familiar, Twain’s ruminations of that first couple of creation, Adam and Eve.   In this broadcast premiere of “The Diary of Adam and Eve”, Julio Martinez, host of KPFK’s “Arts in Review,” has combined and distilled Twain’s thoughts and concerns about God and the Bible into a radio play with Twain as Narrator.  In the second half, courtesy of the Pacifica Radio Archives, we’ll focus on Twain, the man, from the actor’s perspective in Bob Franklin’s 1992 interview with actor Ken Ritchers.
