Today, we continue with Amy Simon’s “Motherhood Unplugged” series, ruminations on the triumphs and travails of motherhood.  In this second part of our celebration of Women’s History month in March, we present Lauren Strawn’s “Brave Little Nell – The Eleanor Roosevelt Story,” a play about one of our history’s most illustrious and admired women. It stars Amy Mizorick with music by Gregory Sharpen.  It was first performed in conjunction with Enrichment Works and later produced at the White Fire Theatre in Los Angeles.  Following “Brave Little Nell” the two Amys talk about the play, Eleanor and motherhood.  We’ll close our show with remarkable historic audio of the formidable First Lady herself.  In “The Changing United Nations,” culled from the Pacifica Radio Archives & produced by Urban Whitaker in 1961, Eleanor Roosevelt speaks on the formation of the United Nations and the importance of countries working together for peace.
