Oscar Grant, III was murdered New Year's Day 2009 by Johannes Mehserle, then-BART police officer.  After serving approximately 10 months in jail, Mehserle is scheduled to be released on June 13.  

Cephus "Uncle Bobby" Johnson, Grant's uncle, is our guest today. In town for an emergency town hall meeting at 6120 S Vermont in Los Angeles, Johnson revisits the grueling murder and it impact on Grant's mother, Wanda Johnson; the subsequent trial, his family's emotional state and well being, and calls for the Justice Department to open an independent investigation into the shooting.
