L.A. Theatre Works’ Radio Theatre Series will air Marvin’s Room, written by Scott McPherson, directed by Jenny Sullivan, and featuring Jason Ritter, Mary Steenburgen and Steven Weber. The broadcast can be heard locally in Southern California on Sunday, July 29 from 8 -10 pm on KPFK 90.7 FM in Los Angeles (98.7 FM in Santa Barbara, 99.5 FM in Ridgecrest/China Lake and 93.7 FM in Rancho Bernardo/North San Diego), and can also be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.

Good-hearted Bessie has been taking care of her ailing father for 20 years, but now she’s the one who’s sick, and she must reconcile with her estranged sister, Lee. The New York Times hailed Marvin’s Room as “...one of the funniest plays of the year as well as one of the wisest and most moving.” The broadcast includes a feature on the emotional and psychological complexities of death and dying.
