Opus

by Michael Hollinger

L.A. Theatre Works’ Radio Theatre Series will air Opus, written by Michael Hollinger, directed by Brendon Fox, and featuring Jonathan Adams, Jere Burns, Kevin Chamberlin, Steven Culp and Liza Weil. The broadcast can be heard locally in Southern California on Sunday, September 9 from 8 -10 pm on KPFK 90.7 FM in Los Angeles (98.7 FM in Santa Barbara, 99.5 FM in Ridgecrest/China Lake and 93.7 FM in Rancho Bernardo/North San Diego), and can also be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.

In Michael Hollinger’s humorous and compelling behind-the-scenes look at a “high-strung” string quartet, a world-famous ensemble threatens to unravel when its most talented member goes missing just before a high-profile performance at the White House. A young woman is hired to take his place — but with only days left to prepare, the musicians must navigate the creative, yet often disharmonious, path of creating a masterpiece. The broadcast includes conversations with playwright Michael Hollinger and arts consultant Drew McManus.
