Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason star in
“The Prisoner of Second Avenue”
L.A. Theatre Works’ Radio Theatre Series will air The Prisoner of Second Avenue, written by Neil Simon, directed by Scott Schwartz, and featuring Richard Dreyfuss and Marsha Mason. The broadcast can be heard locally in Southern California on Sunday, February 17 from 8 -10 pm on KPFK 90.7 FM in Los Angeles (98.7 FM in Santa Barbara, 99.5 FM in Ridgecrest/China Lake and 93.7 FM in Rancho Bernardo/North San Diego), and can also be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.
Neil Simon’s masterpiece about a middle-aged couple facing everything from unemployment to noisy neighbors to a garbage strike. Richard Dreyfuss, Marsha Mason, and other cast members performed this play for L.A. Theatre Works shortly after a successful revival in London's West End. The broadcast includes an interview with Ellen Schiff, author of “Awake and Singing: Six Great American Jewish Plays.”
