"Protecting Sacred Sites: A Call to Action"

Part 1:_____________________
Susana Salas, community activist, joins us for this segment of the show to for a call to action over the illegal desecration of a Tongva and Acjachemen sacred site (ORA-083 & ORA-085) by Hearthside Homes, the developer of Brightwater, a 356 unit housing project located on the top of the Bolsa Chica mesa at the Bolsa Chica wetlands in Huntington Beach, Orange County, CA. The developer illegally obtained its permit without reporting all of the facts about indigenous ancestors, sacred objects, and funerary objects, and the California Coastal Commission (http://www.coastal.ca.gov/) will hold a revocation hearing, on the developers building permit, on Thursday, November 13th, 2008 in the Long Beach City Council Chambers, 333 W. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90802.  Susana and other community supporter are encouraging the local communities and supporters to attend the meeting and write to the California Coastal Commission (http://www.coastal.ca.gov/roster.html) and California State's Native American Heritage Commission (http://www.nahc.ca.gov/)
