"Black Mesa: Ripping the Liver Out of Mother Earth"
Wahleah Johns (Hopi Nation), Co-Director of the Black Mesa Water Coalition (www.blackmesawatercoalition.org), joins us for today's show to discuss Peabody Western Coal Company's request for a 'right to life' permit from the U.S. Office of Surface Mining in order to permanently re-open the Black Mesa 'Coal' Complex System within the Dine' and Hopi Nations. The permit, which is expected to be issued sometime this week, will grant Peabody the right to mine all the coal and extract water from these indigenous nations.
