Part 1:  Defending the Ancestors
Dr. Cindi Alvitre (Tongva Nation),  indigenous activist, scholar, and public artist Lauren Bon (pending) joins us live to discuss the outcome of Ya'gna, a gathering place of refugee communities, located in downtown Los Angeles. The site was temporarily transformed into a 32-acre industrial brownfield in the historic center of Los Angeles into a cornfield for one agricultural cycle. The public art project, known as “Not A Cornfield” is concluding and the California state park system has slated the land for development.

Part 2: Advancing California Indigenous Education:  Legislative Updates
Cindy LaMarr
 (Pit River/Piaute Nations), Executive Director of Capital Area Indian Resources and Curtis Notsinneh (Jicarilla Apache) from California State Assembly Member Jackie Goldberg's office, joins us live to discuss to California assembly bills: AB2665 and AB2666. AB2665 is suppose to enhance the quality of education for American Indian children throughout the state, and AB2666 is supposed to enhance the quality of education for American Indian youth for future generations.

Part 3:  "Backhanded Injustice"
Carrie Dann (Shoshone Nation), elder and indigenous activist and Julie Fishel, lawyer from the Western Shoshone Defense Project (
http://www.wsdp.org), and Pete Litster from the Shundahai Network(http://www.shundahai.org) all joins us live on the air to discuss the Department of Defense's resumption of qausi-nuclear testing on the Western Shoshone lands commencing on June 2nd, 2006. The government's response to the recent United Nations Committee to End Racism recent decision which found the United States in violation the Western Shoshone's human rights and in violation of the Treaty of Ruby Valley of 1853.
