Part 1: Cages of Steel - International Political Prisoner  Leonard Peltier Exclusive Court Hearing Update
Micheal Kuzma, Leonard Peltier's Defense Attorney;
discussed the September 8, 2006 court hearing whereby him and Barry Bachrach argued before United States Magistrate Judge Susan R. Nelson for the full release of all FBI files maintained by the Minneapolis Field Office relating to Leonard Peltier and RESMURS.

The FBI reviewed 77,149 pages and released 66,594 pages in full or in part, however, 10,555 pages were withheld in their entirety. Micheal discussed the significance of these documents and they relate to informants, particularly with respect to the extent the Federal Bureau of Investigation paid informants who infiltrated Leonard Peltier?s original defense team. MIcheal Kuzman and Barry Bachrach recently discovered evidence establishing that Douglas Durham, who was a confidential source paid by the FBI to infiltrate the highest levels of the American Indian Movement and who was exposed on March 7, 1975, spoke with, and provided information to, William Halprin, the Chief Prosecutor from Canada against Mr. Peltier in connection with the extradition proceedings. Part 2: Grassroots Indigenous Alternative Media
Since 1998 the Chiapas Media Project (CMP) http://www.chiapasmediaproject.org has been working as a bi-national partnership to providing video and computer equipment and training to indigenous and campesino communities in Chiapas and Guerrero, Mexico. The Chiapas Media Project is currently distributing 16 indigenous productions worldwide. Today we speak with community members of the Chiapas Media Project on the recent developments to empower First Nations, through self-determination, to establish their own sovereign forms of media and how to avoid the mass media's colonization of indigenous peoples through mediums of media.

 American Indian Airwaves regularly broadcast every Wednesday from 3pm to 4pm (PCT) on KPFK FM 90.7 in Los Angles, FM 98.7 in Santa Barbara, and by Internet with Real Media Player, Winamp, & Itunes ( http://www.kpfk.org ).
