One-hour Special "2nd Annual Moompetam Gathering of the Salt Water People" Today we present a one-hour special with exclusive sound from the "2nd Annual Moompetam Gathering of the Salt Water People Festival" held this past weekend at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California. The festival exclusively acknowledges the maritime culture of the indigenous peoples of Los Angeles and Orange County, the Tongva/Gabrielino Nation and its neighboring first nation, the Chumash Nation. Today's show will encompass traditional storytelling from Susan Diaz and a featured-presentation by Dr. Cindi Alvitre (Tongva Nation) on the transformation of space in Los Angeles County and its relationship to the Tongva/Gabrielino Nation.
