Guadalupe Lopez, Membership and Outreach Coordinator for the Minnesota Indian Women's Sexual Assault Coalition (http://www.miwsac.org/) joins us for Part 2 of a two-part interview to discuss the Sexual Violence, Prostitution and Human Trafficking in the State of Minnesota. Guadalupe Lopez discusses the Minnesota Indian Women's Assault Coalition newly released report "Garden of Truth: The Prostitution and Trafficking of Native Women in Minnesota" as well as her personal experiences in speaking with Women and others on this human injustice. Part 2: Banning Books in the Tuscon, AZ Unified School District

Simon Ortiz, (Acoma Pueblo Nation), joins for the second segment of the show to discuss the banned ("confiscated") books and the dismantlement of the Mexican American Studies department by the Tuscon Arizona School District (TUSD) on January 10th, 2012. Simon, in particular, expounds upon institutionalized racism, censorship, and the censored book, Rethinking Columbus," which includes a spectrum of Indigenous authors, musicians, activist, scholars, etc... such as Buffy Sainte-Maire, Suzan Shown Harjo, Joseph Bruchac, Leslie Mormon Silko, plus others.
