Alison Norris will talk about "abortion stigma," the attempt to discredit not only women who choose abortion -- for falling short of "ideals of womanhood," but their families, partners, and a wide range of abortion providers, caregivers and advocates. Alison Norris is a doctor and professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and co-author of a recent study on abortion stigma for Women's Health Issues.

Sunsara Taylor speaks about defending Dr. Leroy Carhart, in Germantown, Maryland. As Sunsara writes, "One of the most courageous and prominent abortion providers in the country is being targeted by one of the most hateful, fascistic, anti-woman groups in the country," the same forces responsible for the murder of Dr. George Tiller. In response, activists have called for a Summer of Trust, July 31 - August 6.  Sunsara is a writer for Revolution Newspaper, a host of WBAI's Equal Time for Freethought, and an Advisory Board member for World Can't Wait.
