We are joined by a courageous author and activist, Miko Peled. He talks about his book, The General's Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine, which is available as a thank-you gift if you click here. Miko Peled is a voice that needs to be heard -- the kind of voice you hear every week on the Michael Slate Show, the kind of radio that makes KPFK so important.
The son of a renowned Israeli general, Miko Peled grew up in Jerusalem, in the heart of the group that ruled Israel. A family tragedy, the killing of his 13-year old niece Smadar by two young suicide bombers in Jerusalem, propelled Peled onto a journey of discovery. It pushed him to re-examine the unquestioning Zionism he had grown up with, and led him to the condemnation of the Zionist state as an apartheid regime.
"There are few books on the Palestine/Israel issue that seem as hopeful to me as this one..." --Alice Walker on The General's Son.
