Armenia is Suffering: L.A.'s Armenians Take Notice

L.A. is home to the largest Armenian population outside Armenia, about 400,000 strong. With the global economic meltdown, the Armenian poverty rate has risen to 28% dashing the hopes of many Armenians of seeing their country thrive in the post-Soviet era.
Sara Anjargolian, a photographer recently photographed the face of poverty in Armenia. The resulting exhibition opens this Saturday, March 27. Find out more about

The opening will be held at a warehouse art space in Atwater Village at 3229 Casitas Avenue.

At 9 pm, a screening of a documentary short on the topic will be presented. The event is a benefit: $25 in advance; $30 at the door.
