On November 15, we talk with the author of a recent book, A Re-Enchanted World by James William Gibson. He argues that we are often deaf to our own successes and that we have missed one of the big cultural shifts of the last 30 years. Gibson sees change in the way humans interact with animals and nature, and sees a deepening call for transcendence. All of this adds up to a recalibration of our relationship to the earth, replacing domination with cooperation.
