Newsflash November 2012: California abolishes the death penalty!

Or not. This fall, Californians will have a chance to vote on the SAFE initiative which would commute California's 700+ death sentences to life in prison without possibility of parole.

Over the next few months an unlikely set of political bedfellows - judges, prison officials, district attorneys and crime victims' families will stump for the SAFE initiative. We speak with Brent Tonick and Deldelp Medina two of those family members who will stump up and down the state over the next few months, telling their personal stories of tragedy and why they are stumping FOR the initiative.
