The Ageless Wisdom with Michael Benner, Tuesdays at 1 PM
This coming Tuesday, December 7th at 1:00 PM Michael presents an exclusive interview with John Cleese as a special kick-off to our KPFK Winter Fund Drive
Monty Python sketches, first broadcast by England's BBC in 1969, changed the face of comedy forever. Never blue or vulgar, Python bits were always clever, often brilliant satirical comments about Western society and its values.
Later, the films, "In Search of the Holy Grail," "The Life of Brian," and "The Meaning of Life" directly assaulted rigid church doctrine and dogma. Yet the co-founder of the troupe, John Cleese, is not irreligious. Quite the contrary, Cleese is a philosophically deep-thinker with much to say about consciousness and the bicameral mind.
John Cleese is best known as a comedian and actor in Monty Python, Fawlty Towers and the feature films, "Search for the Holy Grail," "The Life of Brian," and "The Meaning of Life.”
Though typically his films satirize organized religion, Cleese is fascinated by the study of consciousness, mysticism, metaphysics, and philosophy. But he and Michael will also talk about what makes something funny.
