Cooperation WORKS! and Collective REMAKE is making it Happen.

On June 30, 2019, at Mount Saint Mary’s University, Collective REMAKE is hosting a community event featuring Jessica Gordon-Nembhard, the author Collective Courage: A History of African American Cooperative Economic Thought and Practice.

This book is one of the most important historical documents of our time. Gordon-Nembhard reminds us that we, as humans, can think and organize ourselves differently for the benefit of the community at large. Leaders we know including Sojourner Truth, Fredrick Douglas, W.E.B. Dubois, and Ella Baker were all involved in cooperative movements. The solution is in our hands.

Collective REMAKE is a unique social enterprise that supports the development of worker-owned businesses and other kinds of cooperatives with people coming home to Los Angeles from prison or jail

Join Collective REMAKE, local cooperative players, and community partners for an evening of knowledge sharing, entertainment, and fun.

There will be a program followed by a reception and book signing.
