KPFK is a listener-sponsored radio station based in Los Angeles. KPFK was the second of five stations in the non-commercial Pacifica Foundation network. The Pacifica Foundation was founded in the late 1940s out of the peace movement surrounding World War II, becoming the birthplace of a listener-sponsored radio.
Submitting your content proposal to KPFK helps expand the scope of the Pacifica Foundations mission. KPFK is looking for those that would like to contribute on-air/ digital content, including podcasts and or on-demand video (such as YouTube/ Vimeo). KPFK also seeks
Expanding content and reach utilizing all mediums available to KPFK provides an opportunity for diverse content producers to reach diverse audiences, especially people of color and the younger generation, 18-45 year-olds.
KPFK is committed to promoting content that is measurably successful in engaging a wide range of listeners. Requirements:
Submissions are evaluated on an ongoing basis. They are judged on many criteria, including the quality of the proposal or completed work, the experience of the Content Creators/ Producers, the needs of the schedule, and KPFK. All projects for consideration will fall within the process that is described below. Submissions that are unique and timely in nature will receive immediate attention, but KPFK will determine at its discretion, which programs and proposals fall into this category.
The submission process begins with an initial review by our program development team. Because the number of proposals we receive varies greatly, we do not have a standard time-frame in place for a response. We are committed to contacting producers about their proposed projects as quickly as possible, usually within six weeks.
Following the initial review, if a program meets our standards and mission, then it will be determined which submissions we will move forward with; Content Creators/ Producers will be notified after that.
Please use this link to the online form to submit your proposal.
