In memoriam: Roy Tuckman

Roy passed away in April 2023. KPFK interim General Manager Michael Novick has been curating the program since May 2023 in the framework and format that Roy created, developed and evolved over the decades, dynamite radio for night people. Monday overnight to Tuesday features political economy and now includes a regular Creative FRONTLINE segment on Indigenous environmentalism from filmmaker and journalist Robert Lundahl and Tracker Ginamarie Rangel Quinone, a Chiricahua Apache reporter; Tuesday overnight to Wednesday focuses, as Roy did, on holistic health, and includes Food Sleuth Radio, and Whole Mother on pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing/parenting from sister station KPFT; Wednesday overnight to Thursday starts off with Dave Emory at 12 midnight and has an anti-fascist focus, continuing with Grayzone Radio from Max Blumenthal and Aaron Mate', The Final Straw Radio, and Out-FM from sister station WBAI; Thursday overnight to Friday opens at midnight with Alan Watts, and includes Sounds True, and Caroline Casey Visionary Activist at 3 AM. Philosophical material from The History of Philosophy without Any Gaps from Kings College London is also used. Each hour is now archived separately on the KPFK on-line archives, as Somethings Happening A, hours 1-3, and Somethings Happening B, hours 1-3 -- streaming only, no downloads. First Monday overnight of the month has a concentration on Old Radio, and there's an old radio break on the Thursday-Friday overnight.
