This special concert features the world premiere of orchestral music composed by Earth, Wind & Fire founder Maurice White for the Symphonic Jazz Orchestra more than 20 years ago - music recently rediscovered that will finally get its world premiere performance. Performed by the 68-member Symphonic Jazz Orchestra, along with Grammy nominated and Soul Train Music Award winning vocalist Chante Moore, the concert also includes new symphonic arrangements of Earth, Wind & Fire classics including That's the Way of the World, In the Stone, Reasons, September and others. These concerts are presented in partnership with the Estate of Maurice White and Broken Halo Productions.
The Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center is located at 6200 E. Atherton St., Long Beach, CA 90815. It is situated on the California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) campus, near Palo Verde Avenue. Paid parking is available in Lot G12 in front of the theater.
