Considered a masterpiece of American literature, F. Scott Fitzgerald's celebrated classic novel dealing with wealth, social class, gender and race was initially a commercial flop. Upon his death F. Scott Fitzgerald died believing he was a failure. Now considered one of the greats of American literature, The Great Gatsby, along with many other of Fitzgerald's works have been read, studied, and adapted into numerous film versions.
