Mexican singer/songwriter NATALIA LAFOURCADE was born February 26, 1984 in Mexico City. Her music weaves sounds from her native Mexico with elements of jazz, rock, bossa nova and folk.

Natalia grew up in Mexico City and Veracruz surrounded by music. Both parents were professional musicians and she began writing songs at age 16, and a year later she signed her first record deal with Sony Music. Her debut album, Natalia LaFourcade (2002), topped the charts in Mexico and prompted a Latin Grammy nomination for the 17-year-old in the category of Best New Artist.
