Reggae Night XVIII ft. Damian 'Jr. Gong' Marley, Third World, Kabaka Pyramid at the Hollywood Bowl

Four-time Grammy® winner Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley has established himself as a unique and influential presence in reggae, combining the roots sound of his father’s legendary music with the fast flow and spirit of dancehall and hip-hop. Ten-time Grammy nominees Third World are no stranger to fusion, setting their blend of soul, R&B, and rock to a reggae beat since 1973. Socially conscious Kabaka Pyramid opens with a fiery, beat-based, and hip-hop-influenced reggae sound built around messages of love, unity, and justice.
Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, once known as the “The Youngest Veteran” by his fellow artists, is now an elder in the game who’s not afraid to speak his mind out of respect for the music and culture he loves—and for the divine spirit of humanity in all of us. The lyrically profound and largely self-produced 12th studio album released in 2018, Stony Hill maintains the element of hardness from “Jam-Rock” to “Stony,” and arrived at a moment when the rhythms of the Caribbean were and still are all over the pop charts—with mostly light-hearted lyrical content.
Celebrating 45 years, ‘Reggae Ambassadors’, THIRD WORLD is one of the longest-lived Reggae bands of all time, and one of Jamaica's most consistently popular crossover acts among international audiences. Mixing in elements of R&B, funk, pop, and rock and, later on, dancehall and rap, Third World’s style has been described as "reggae-fusion".
Kabaka Pyramid is a conscious revolutionary lyricist with a unique musical style; blending the power, energy and melody of Reggae with the lyricism of Hip hop. Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica this Bebble Rock Music artist uses his liquid and hypnotizing delivery to spread positive messages of spiritual evolution that forces you to listen.
