Working Voices is a labor of love for us because of our love for labor. The labor movement has pulled many folks out of poverty and taught us leadership skills and the ability to help even more. We're here to teach, to learn, to share our expertise and our experiences.
I’m Joe Ayala, president of NABET/CWA Local 9503 in Burbank. I served as VP for 14 years before being elected president of the Burbank local. Most of Local 53’s members work in the predominately Latino media and sharing information has become such an important part of journalism.
My name is Enrique Sanchez, founder and director of Spanish United established in 2020. I am a leader in the community in which I live as well as a leader in the Hispanic community. My background is in education specifically in Political Science as it pertains to education. I work as a freelance educator and a podcaster covering issues within the Hispanic community, lobbying to bring social justice to the Latinx community through education, reforms, and investment.
I’m Dan McCrory, former president of CWA Local 9503. I served as Secretary for the National Writers Union for 17 years before being elected Chair of the union’s book division. Served on CWA Local 9503 executive board 9 years.
Rooted out corruption in both unions.
President, AT&T Pioneers philanthropic organization.
